4. Why we use personal information and our lawful bases

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the use is necessary and balanced against your rights and expectations.
5. Payments
Payments may be processed by third-party providers such as Stripe and PayPal. These providers process payment information under their own privacy notices and security controls.
TCG Globe Ltd may receive and retain transaction references, payment status, limited payment-method details, refund information, billing details and fraud-prevention results needed to manage the order and maintain accurate records.
6. Newsletter and direct marketing
We send marketing emails only where we have an appropriate lawful basis. When consent is used, you may withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contacting us.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending essential service messages concerning your account, payment, order, delivery, return, refund or security.
We may retain a limited suppression record after you unsubscribe so that we can respect your choice and avoid sending further marketing messages.
7. Who we may share personal information with
We share personal information only where reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate safeguards. Recipients may include:
- payment processors and fraud-prevention providers;
- couriers, postal operators and fulfilment providers;
- website hosting, database, security, email and technical service providers;
- professional advisers, including accountants, insurers, auditors and legal advisers;
- regulators, law-enforcement bodies, courts or public authorities where required or permitted by law; and
- a buyer, investor or adviser involved in a genuine business sale, merger or restructuring, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal controls.
We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
8. International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate legal transfer mechanism and suitable safeguards are in place, such as an adequacy regulation, approved contractual protections or another mechanism permitted by UK data-protection law.
9. How long we keep personal information
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, security and dispute-resolution requirements.
| Record type | Typical retention approach |
|---|---|
| Customer account records | While the account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards, subject to legal, security and dispute requirements |
| Orders, invoices, payments and refunds | Normally retained for up to six years after the end of the relevant accounting period or longer where law or an active dispute requires it |
| Customer-support and complaint records | Normally retained for up to six years where linked to a transaction, complaint or potential claim |
| Newsletter subscription records | While subscribed; limited suppression records may be kept after unsubscribe to honour the opt-out |
| Security, audit and rate-limit records | Kept for a proportionate period based on security, fraud-prevention and investigation needs |
| Unsuccessful verification or reset records | Deleted, expired or anonymised when no longer required for account security |
Retention periods may be shortened or extended where necessary to comply with law, investigate fraud, resolve disputes or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
Measures may include password hashing, access controls, verified sessions, anti-forgery protection, rate limiting, audit logging, payment-provider security controls, backups and restricted administrative access.
No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Customers should use a strong, unique password and contact us promptly if they suspect unauthorised account activity.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and similar technology where needed to operate features such as login sessions, basket contents, security, checkout and preferences.
Non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies will be used only with an appropriate legal basis and consent where required.
Further details will be provided in our Cookie Policy.
12. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- be informed about how your information is used;
- request access to your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase information in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances;
- receive certain information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format;
- object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
- receive information about and challenge certain solely automated decisions, where applicable.
These rights are not absolute and may be limited by lawful exemptions. We may ask for information needed to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
We will not charge a fee in most cases, although a reasonable fee may be permitted where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
13. Automated decision-making
Payment and fraud-prevention providers may use automated systems to assess transaction risk. TCG Globe Ltd does not currently make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely through its own automated processing.
Where this changes, we will provide the information and safeguards required by law.
14. Children
Our online shop is intended for customers who are legally capable of entering into a purchase contract. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children for targeted marketing.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information inappropriately should contact us.
15. Complaints
Please contact us first so that we have an opportunity to resolve your concern: support@tcgglobe.com .
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data-protection regulator. Current complaint and contact information is available on the ICO website.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
Where a change is material, we may also provide an additional notice through the website, account area or email where appropriate.
